A new bug in Diablo 2 (2000) prevents the game from starting when the client tries to connect to Battle.net after a clean install of the game. The client will say it fails to connect, but then the next time you log in the message will be slightly different: "Saving profile data. Please wait.." "All of the Diablo II data files on your computer will be erased. Do you want to continue?" Trying to log out of the game and back in will leave you in exactly the same situation. Sometimes there will also be an Unsupported sync error message. Clean install of the game, or re-installing Diablo II from disc will fix this issue.

I cannot connect to the Diablo II Battle.net server because the game always says I cannot open the profile and I need to wait for it to open the profile and then it says there is a missing or corrupt profile data file and it tries to delete the profile and I don't want it to do that. I did everything I could to make sure my profile was correct and it was correct. I can't get this game working at all. I have done everything I know how to do and it just doesn't want to open. I don't have anything else on my hard drive because I am moving to a new computer. Is there any way to test and see if my profile is okay?.
In Diablo II (2000), when I delete my characters/raids after a failed attempt, the "Delete character" window never closes. It just sits there until I hit the close button on the title bar. No warnings, no error codes, it's just there.

Diablo 1: Curse of Tristram, Diablo II: The Ultimate Evil Edition, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, and Diablo II: Awakening of Satan are all available in North America, Europe, and South America. Diablo II: Battle Chest is available in Asia and Oceania, but not in Europe or North America.
