Veronica Mars - Season 1

The first season of Veronica Mars aired from September 22, 2004 until May 10, 2005 and contains 22 episodes. The main focus of the season is the Lilly Kane Murder Case, including the investigation of Veronica's Rape Case. It was released on DVD in October 11, 2005.

Veronica Mars is back \u2014 a week earlier than expected \u2014 and we've got a new case on our hands for our favorite PI to solve. Veronica's come a long way from the savvy, snarky teenager who was solving crimes while juggling classes, friends, and boy problems. Ahead of the season four premiere on Hulu, the streaming platform also began showing the original series, which aired for three seasons from 2004 to 2007 before being unexpectedly canceled. Logan's father Aaron is acquitted of Lilly's murder at his trial and is set free. Ultimately, Veronica realizes that it's Beaver who masterminded the bus crash, wanting to cover up Woody's molestation of himself and the other boys (who were going to reveal the truth). When she confronts him, she finds out that she and Duncan didn't have drugged sex that night at the party \u2014 Beaver raped her and gave her an STD. Beaver blows up Woody's plane before killing himself. Veronica eventually discovers that teaching assistant Tim murdered the dean and framed the dean's wife's lover for it.\nKeith Mars is named acting sheriff, and Veronica continues investigating various cases, even as her relationship with Logan deteriorates and she begins seeing Piz. She decides to become a licensed PI, but all her plans get derailed when a sex tape of her and Piz leaks online. Logan beats up Piz, believing he's the culprit, but Veronica finds out that the real culprits are a secret society called The Castle. Keith covers up evidence of Veronica's investigative break-in, but it costs him his re-election as sheriff, and The Castle is still pulling a lot of strings.\nThe season three finale was, unexpectedly, the series finale (at the time). Veronica Mars was a critical darling of the 2004 season and garnered tons of acclaim for its smartly crafted and big over-arching mysteries. I loved Veronica Mars and despite that, I can see that it was a direct result of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a style that many shows were trying to emulate at the time. What made Veronica Mars work was that you needed to be a loyal viewer to get what was happening in the multiple mysteries that perforated the plot and often would go multiple episodes before even getting little clues.

It only lasted three seasons, and the last one wasn't very spectacular, but Veronica Mars is already a cultural touchstone. Smart, funny, and blessed with a female lead who could do anything her character required, Rob Thomas's show would take its relatively short run and use it to build a show praised by critics and beloved by fans. 041b061a72
